Fort Thompson Sporting Goods traces its roots back to 1931, when Clyde (C.B.) Thompson opened a humble grocery and hardware store in North Little Rock, Arkansas. It was here that his son, C.B. Thompson Jr., began selling guns and ammunition from a back storeroom—planting the seeds of what would become a local legacy.

A Name with History

Under C.B. Thompson Jr.’s leadership, the business transformed into Thompson’s Super Market, which continued to thrive. In 1985, the sporting goods division split off and moved into a newly built log-style building across the street. Inspired by the structure’s fort-like design and C.B. Thompson’s enduring impact, the new business was named Fort Thompson Sporting Goods.

A Family Tradition Spanning Over 90 Years

Now located in Sherwood, Arkansas, Fort Thompson Sporting Goods has grown to nearly 30,000 square feet of retail space. As a family-owned and operated business for over nine decades, we are committed to innovation, growth, and providing our customers with exceptional service.
